Certain prescription-only oral antibiotics cure chlamydia infections. Both the patient and their sex partners need to take all of the antibiotic tablets to prevent reinfection and infection of other partners. When taken properly, antibiotics will cure the infection and will decrease your chances of having complications later on. You should not share medication for chlamydia with anyone.
Repeat infection with chlamydia is common. You should be tested again about three months after you are treated, even if your sex partner(s) was treated.
