Asynchronous care is healthcare without appointments. At Alpha, we provide asynchronous care only. This helps make Alpha care more convenient and affordable than traditional care.
Here’s how it works:
- Start a visit at any time that is convenient for you.
- Your Alpha provider will review your visit details. While they are creating your treatment plan, the time is yours. No more waiting at the doctor’s office!
- Your Alpha provider or a support team member will respond often within 48-72 hours,* although this depends on message volume and the complexity of your request.
- If your Alpha provider prescribes a medication, you can have it mailed to you through our partner pharmacy, or you can pick it up at a pharmacy of your choice.
*For urgent visits, you will often receive a response within 8 hours.
Asynchronous care means there is no real-time messaging between you and your provider, or you and a support team member. We do not offer video visits or phone calls with your provider (in some urgent situations, a nurse may call you).
